Executive summary
Currently, the world is living with Covid-19, and has suffered repeated waves of infection. Over time there have been peaks of actions aimed at prevention, followed by the
relaxation of prevention measures.
This infection affects the immune system, which causes an inflammatory response. Since our food is directly related to our health, several studies have been carried out to
understand the essential components for fighting and preventing Covid-19.
This report highlights the components of the daily diet that may be beneficial for addressing Covid-19 disease. The application of these products opens opportunities for
the food industry to consider developing functional products in this area.
This is likely to become established a new trend for 2022, as society continues to deal with the pandemic and it’s long term outcomes.
